Establish a streak

I really wanted to tell Alexa to snooze again, but then I would have ruined my streak.

Today is the last day of January, and every weekday I've gotten up after hitting snooze only once each day. (This is HUGE for me!) And midway through the month I moved my alarm 5 minutes earlier, so I feel as if I've added a few extra minutes to each day.

Making a note each day that I kept my commitment to myself to get up on time provided me additional motivation for each subsequent day. As a result, I feel better than I have at the end of any January I can remember. I've never had a streak like this.

I had two other streaks going too: one for using my daylight therapy lamp each morning and another for meditating each morning. Both got busted by a way-too-early commitment last Saturday, but I'm back on track with both now.

Some of my readers have shared that they get the winter blues too. What type of streak would help you have a better February? Getting up on time? Writing in a journal? Exercising? Doing something nice for yourself?

Establish a streak.
